All of Us is a research program funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that is based on precision medicine, where treating a disease is tailored to each individual rather than a “one size fits all” approach. People who enroll in this program may be asked to share information about their health, habits, and the environment they live in.
The data collected will allow healthcare professionals to better study diseases and the patterns of symptoms within each condition in the hopes of better understanding why and how we get sick. This will lead to a better understanding of disease, and allow researchers to develop effective treatment. All adults in the United States over the age of 18 are eligible to join. Joining this program may help improve health outcomes for future generations; their goal is to enroll one million people over ten years.
