Growing up Together: Recognizing and Supporting Siblings of the Undiagnosed & Ultra-rare

Join us on Tuesday, November 12th at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time as we explore the challenges siblings experience, from feeling overlooked to finding the balance between their own needs and those of their brother or sister. Jessica Patay, founder of We Are Brave Together, and Christin Siscoe, UDNF Patient Navigator, will share their insights and experiences supporting siblings in families affected by undiagnosed or ultra-rare conditions. You’ll come away with steps you can take now to help care for siblings growing up in families impacted by rare or undiagnosed conditions.

About the Speakers:

Jessica Patay is We Are Brave Together’s founder and executive director, a non-profit supporting over 2,600 caregiving mothers across 50 states and 25 countries. Inspired by her own experience raising a child with a rare genetic disorder, Jessica launched the organization in 2017 to empower and connect moms on difficult caregiving journeys. She is a sought-after speaker, writer, and host of the Brave Together Podcast, where she shares stories, explores challenges, and provides resources for caregivers. Jessica is also a contributing author to the anthology Becoming Brave Together, celebrating the heroic stories of caregiving mothers.

Christin Siscoe MSN, RN, CPN, a Patient Navigator with the UDNF, has 18 years of nursing experience as a pediatric nurse, educator, and administrator. She has obtained numerous national certifications and awards for her compassionate care, innovative leadership style, and profound advocacy work. She resides in Rayville, Louisiana, with her sons, Ayden and Cooper, and niece Elaina. Cooper is a UDN participant where he was given a partial diagnosis of hereditary pancreatitis.
