Research Study for Undiagnosed Diseases: How to Submit Your Case
The researchers at the UDN review every submitted case. If you have ongoing symptoms, no clear diagnosis, and are unsure where to go for an undiagnosed illness, the UDN may be able to help.
How to Submit Your Case
What Happens Next?
Every submitted case receives a careful, thorough review by one of the UDN site research teams.
The coordinating center assigns your case to a UDN site for review.
That site will contact you to collect any medical records they need.
After the UDN site receives all the needed records, the medical record case review starts. The review process can take up to 60 business days.
After the medical record case review, the UDN will share one of these outcomes:
Your case may move forward for further evaluation with the UDN;
You may receive recommendations for testing or next steps to discuss with your doctor; or
You may be told that the UDN’s resources are unlikely to help at this time.
Need Help or Have Questions?
If you would like support with submitting your case or understanding the process, you can connect with a UDNF Patient Navigator.
If you have submitted a case to the UDN, your referring provider can also contact your UDN site with any questions.
